I sequence change.

I design learning journeys, systems, and experiences that create lasting behavior change. In the order it actually happens.

You walk it. Change happens.

Selected work

Three pieces, built and shipped.

Three finished pieces, each moving a real group of people from one way of working to a better one — every one built accessible to WCAG AA, because the learner always comes first.

01Instructor-led training

Digital Banking Specialist

Unitus Community Credit Union · Training & Strategic Implementation team

Problem

Leadership stood up a brand-new Digital Banking Specialist role — a position that didn't exist before — and needed training built from nothing, to the stakeholders' requirements. Member issue resolution was dragging up to 3 days.

Solution

On the Training & Strategic Implementation team, I built the instructor-led course to the stakeholders' requirements: needs analysis, objectives, SME-scripted content, job aids, a participant guide, and scenario-based practice on the live support tools. Compliance completions tracked in Litmos.

Result

Issue resolution dropped from 3 days to under 24 hours, and the role had a training path from its first day.

Help Pearl — Live AI Roleplay

Original AI-roleplay sample · Cascade Mutual Credit Union (fictional client)

Problem

Compliance training on elder financial exploitation teaches the what — the red flags, the law, the policy — and tellers still freeze at the window. The hard part was never the definition; it's acting on a hunch, under pressure, without accusing a loyal member.

Solution

A live AI conversational roleplay: the learner is the teller, and Pearl Hayes, 78, is played by Claude in real time — wanting to wire $9,000 to someone she met online. A live trust meter, per-turn coaching, and a red-flags rail make the skill visible; a deterministic scripted fallback keeps it running with no API.

Result

A reusable, audit-relevant pattern for practice-based compliance learning — built to WCAG 2.1 AA and validated against FinCEN, NCUA, and the Senior Safe Act, with a cited compliance memo.

Caregiver Onboarding & Enablement

Family Resource Home Care · Lead Field Training Specialist · branch-delivered program

Problem

A fast-growing home-care company — expanding across multiple states — needed caregiver onboarding standardized so every branch delivered it the same way. Self-guided training couldn't hold that consistency.

Solution

Designed a standardized onboarding program for caregiver managers to deliver in the branches — a facilitator package of videos produced in Camtasia + Audiate, branch-ready slides and visuals built in Canva, and the supporting components — so every location could run the same materials as the company scaled.

Result

A branch-ready onboarding package, and the people to carry it. As the department grew from a single training coordinator into a regional training team, I helped define what a training specialist needed to be, and helped guide interviewing and selection — then trained three branch roles and both trainer groups as the company grew and opened new operations.

Built in-house · Mobile job aid

Most job aids are a PDF nobody opens on a phone.

So I built one that isn't. It's running live on this page — tap any section to open it, try the call button, switch to the map. Designed and built in-house: interface, content, and code.

Who I serve

Three kinds of organizations.

Regulated and financial institutions

Build competent, compliant, confident professionals.

Healthcare organizations

Turn protocol into what people actually do.

Coaches and educators

Create client journeys that produce meaningful transformation.

Agencies and studios — I take white-label overflow, and it ships under your name.

What I create

Three things, done properly

No framework to learn before we start. Three kinds of work, each built to be handed over and kept running by the people who own it.

Scalable learning assets

Courses, job aids, and toolkits that hold up after I hand them over, and that someone else can maintain.

Curriculum and core programs

Full programs for organizations, coaches, and brands — architecture first, content second.

Practice experiences

Live and AI-driven practice where people rehearse the hard conversation before it costs the business something.

Services & engagement

Two ways to work with me.

Different front doors, same engine underneath: the change comes first, the content follows.

For regulated teams

Compliance Training Design

Compliance training people actually use — built around the behavior the regulation exists to protect, not the policy binder. Designed, documented, and delivered so the training holds up in the real moment, under real pressure.

Every build includes

  • A behavior-first course map — built around the moment the regulation exists to protect
  • A flagship course — instructor-led, virtual, or self-paced in Rise, Storyline, or custom interactive HTML
  • Scenario practice and knowledge checks that mirror the real pressure
  • Audit-ready documentation and the job aids that live at the desk

For experts who coach

Coaching Course Architecture

Your method works — when you're in the room. But there's one of you. I turn what you teach one-on-one into a course that works when you're not on the call: your voice, your frameworks, sequenced the way change happens. Not a video library — a course clients finish.

CoachesConsultants

Every build includes

  • A change map first — what your clients will do differently, sequenced before any content is built
  • A flagship course built in Rise or custom interactive HTML — yours to keep and sell
  • Practice scenarios and knowledge checks drawn from your real client conversations
  • Job aids your learners keep long after the course ends

In their words

Trusted by the teams I build with.

Partners, stakeholders, and the SMEs I design alongside.

Jamie developed pivotal training for key processes across the organization, leveraging his deep expertise in curriculum development, strong video production skills, and solid understanding of adult learning theory. He approaches content design with great attention to detail and was a trusted resource for observing, evaluating, and providing feedback to trainers across the team.

Gina Reynolds, BSN, RN, CCMDirector of Training & Development, Family Resource Home Care

Jamie was such an asset to our team. He jumped right into learning new things and made sure to share what he learned with the rest of the team. He is caring and attentive with class participants, and his calm demeanor and patience especially helped new hires. Whether in the classroom, on project teams, or in meetings, his communication abilities made him a joy to work with.

Rose HalfordTraining & Strategic Implementation AVP, Unitus Community Credit Union

Jamie has the utmost attention to detail and is always a pleasure to work with. He stays up to date with what's new and cutting edge in the training field, and never ceases to amaze me with how adaptable he is to any situation — whether with internal clients or on an external client site. I would hands down recommend him both professionally and personally.

About me

I'm an APTD-certified instructional design consultant who believes learning should feel less like a quiz and more like a rehearsal for the real thing.

Over 20+ years I've partnered with L&D teams, SMEs, and business leaders across healthcare, financial services, and home care — several times building the training function from the ground up.

My BA in Contemplative Psychology shapes how I design — with attention to the human on the other side of the screen. I care about the unglamorous parts (clear objectives, tight feedback loops, accessibility) because that's what makes a course actually work — and I'm happiest prototyping something genuinely interactive.
